TTT: Bookish Gifts I Wouldn’t Mind Seeing Under My Christmas Tree

Ohhhhhh yeah! Less than a week to Christmas!

I love this time of year, family and friends, joy, peace, and denial that January 20th is a month away. Huzzah!

Besides a pile of rich food to drown my sorrows, there’s also some books (and bookish swag) that would help as well.

And while Christmas isn’t about the gifts… there’s still a few items I wouldn’t mind seeing under my tree.

Books

1 American Gods – Neil Gaiman

I’ve been wanting to buy American Gods for a few months now, but I’m glad I waited. This cover just recently came out, and if I don’t get it for Christmas then it’s on my to-buy list for Jan.

2 The Magician King – Lev Grossman

Readers know that I loved the first book and I’ve been jonesin’ for the sequel. Another book I’ll be purchasing soon if it’s not under my tree.

3 Far From a Madding Crowd – Thomas Hardy

I love the Penguin Clothbound covers. One of the most beautiful collections out there. I’ve been slowly collecting, and Hardy’s classic is next on the list.

4 To the Bright Edge of the World – Eowyn Ivey

I really loved Ivey’s first book, The Snow Child, and I really think her second debut would be a great February or March read.

5 Penguin Galaxy Series

Most of this new collection was already on my TBR list, so why not use it as an excuse to purchase more beautiful books. Amazing if any are under the Christmas tree, if not I’ll be spending 2017 collecting them.

Swag

 6/7 Jane Austen Goodies!

No bookish swag is complete if Jane Austen isn’t on the list. I have both of these items on my wishlist! I need more Austen in my life 🙂

If you want to drool over them as well, you can find the socks here and the mug here.

8 Scented Candles

Book inspired candles are very popular right now, but I ran into the etsy shop From The Page and I might just have to try these out. Not only do they have candles inspired by popular literary locations, they also have some creative ones, like Floo Powder, As You Wish, Dragon’s Breath, and A Mad Tea Party. (To name a few)

Check out all the different scents here.

9 Library Card Pillows

One day soon I’ll have a library, and I’ve already started collecting decor. I think I need at least one of these pillows in my book nook.

I dig the yellow and white ones, what do you think about the colors?

10 Book Cover Wall Art

I already got a couple of these prints last Christmas and I think I need one more for that future Book Nook of mine.

Here are some of the other prints at the Etsy shop CartabanCards.

All kidding aside, even if I don’t get anything listed above, I still have Hubs and my little girl. They are the loves of my life, and knowing I get to spend Christmas with them is everything to me.

Happy Holidays to all my readers!

  1. Don’t mind me, I’ll just be over here obsessing about those book covers on old pages. WOW. And affordable too! I totally want a set. I’d love to get some of those library card pillows for my classroom, but my students are assholes (I love them, but seriously) and ruin stuff like that pretty quickly.

That American Gods cover–yep. And Far from the Madding Crowd is one of my all time favorite books. All in all, if by some accident all of YOUR items end up under MY tree, I wouldn’t complain.
