Laura @ Inkings of an Introvert nominated me for the Liebster award. I have to be honest, I was nominated a few times. One was the day before my Maine trip and sadly got lost in the shuffle. (Sorry!) I decided I need to at least complete one and try to get back on track!
The rules for the Liebster Award:
1 Thank the person who nominated you.
2 Answer the 11 questions they gave you.
3 Nominate 11 blogs.
4 Give them 11 questions to answer.
1 What is the one book you own that means the most to you? And why?
I have a old copy of The Wizard of the Oz that was given to me by my grandmother. It is probably the oldest book I own and really paved the way for me loving fantasy.
2 Describe your bedroom or perfect reading nook…
The best place I’ve ever read is on a porch in Maine near the beach. The peace and comfort I felt was amazing. My next house is definitely getting a screened-in porch.
3 What are your thoughts on book to movie adaptions?
I’m probably in the minority, but I love them, as I am also a movie buff as well as a bookworm. I understand being upset at bad adaptations, nothing is worse than seeing your favorite character interpreting poorly, but there are so many fantastic adaptations! Just this year we got The Handmaid’s Tale, which is very faithful to the characters while taking them to new places.
4 Do you prefer Spring or Autumn?
100% Autumn. I have severe seasonal allergies, so I’m usually stuck indoors in the spring, missing the beautiful weather.
5 What is your favorite TV show? And why?
Hmmm… Lol, this is like the favorite book question. I don’t know if I have a favorite, but the two shows I rewatch the most are Gilmore Girls and Arrested Development.
6 What is your most anticipated read for the rest of 2017?
Dreamland Burning, which came out earlier this year, and I’m also excited to reread The Phantom of the Opera for Halloween!
7 How do you spend your summers? A day in the life of you?
My day to day is pretty much running after my toddler, working on this blog, making sure my house isn’t falling to pieces, and spending time with my man.
We usually try to take one summer trip, and this year we went to the coast of Maine with my sister-in-law and her family.
8 What is the most outrageous and rebellious thing you have ever done?
I’m such a square, because this took a lot of thought to find something! I guess it would be that for my summer internship in college I lived in Moldova for 9+ weeks. Don’t know if it’s ‘rebellious’, but I had a lot of people who thought I was nuts!
9 If you could meet one author or famous person in the world, who would it be? And why?
I hope this doesn’t come off as cheesy, but I really hope that one day I can meet President Obama. But if he’s not avaliable I would go with Richard Armitage. 😉
10 Which character’s wardrobe/clothing style would you like to steal?
Probably Elizabeth Bennett, or any Jane Austen woman for that matter. If I could have the wardrobe and still keep all my modern day luxuries I would be a happy camper.
11 One piece of advice you would give to another fellow blogger?
It’s okay to do things, like book tags and memes, to get your blog out there, but don’t sell out yourself! Read what you want and write what you want. Every time I get caught up with ‘well, I should be reading this’, I just end up miserable.
1 Why did you start blogging?
2 Paperbacks, Hardbacks, or E-books? (or all of the above?)
3 What is your favorite genre of books (better than just picking one ;D)?
4 What author do you think ‘changed the game’?
5 What was your favorite book as a child or one that meant a lot to you?
6 What book are you excited to share with your present or future child/niece or nephew?
7 Which book character do you wish were real and you could meet?
8 What is your favorite book-to-movie adaptation?
9 What do you think is the worst book-to-movie adaptation?
10 What TV show are you diggin’ right now?
11 What’s your favorite book of 2017 so far?
To all of those I nominated, have fun and I can’t wait to read your answers!
