August 2018: Easing Back…

Due to moving I took some time off from blogging the past few months. Ended up being the right decision, as I barely had time for reading let alone writing blog posts.

The end is in sight and soon I’ll be in my new house (so excited!). For this month I just want to ease back into the swing of things. Other than a Quick Lit post (because I have tons of Mini Reviews), I need to knock out a couple of books on my Classics Club list.

Three posts can’t be that bad, right?

The Color Purple – Alice Walker

Jane Steele – Lyndsay Faye*

Kafka on the Shore – Haruki Murakami

The Phantom Tollbooth – Norton Juster

The Seven Deaths of Eve Hardcastle – Stuart Turton**

Turtles All the Way Down – John Green

*I technically started this book in mid-June, but by heaven and hell I will finish it this month.

**This is the title of the UK version that came out in February. For some reason the American version is ‘7 ½ Deaths’ and makes the cover look dumb. Also the US version doesn’t come out til September…. so I just ordered the UK version.

  1. Hooray for your new home! I hope your last bit of moving-in goes well. I read ‘The Color Purple’ last year and had a tough time with it at first but was really glad I’d read it by the end — so I’m looking forward to seeing what you think of it, too.
